Director’s Statement by Anthony Leigh Adams

Two summers ago, my writing/producing partner, Christina Adams, and I were vacationing in the High Sierras. We took a morning hike around a pristine lake ringed by majestic, snow-covered mountains. We were alone, serenaded by the soothing thunder of twin waterfalls. As we explored the area, we came across a massive boulder overgrown with vegetation. Under the foliage we thought we could make out writing on the stone. We pulled away the shrubbery and discovered a faint inscription. Although time had worn away most of the words about love and loss, the date was legible - the inscription was written 27 years to the day from when we discovered the stone.

We were so amazed by the synchronicity and palpable emotion etched into the stone that we sat on a fallen log overlooking the lake and wondered who wrote it and what it meant. Almost instantly, images and characters began to flow into us and we knew that this story would be our next movie. After years of writing, producing and directing for theater, TV and film, we decided to make LOST LAKE as an independent feature film.

Thanks to the extraordinary dedication and talent of our collaborators, Christina and I were able to transform our vision of the story in the stone into cinematic reality.
